Omrvinka
A small take-out pastry shop in Bratislava that regularly sells out before noon. It started with New York-style cookies, then grew into something bigger — pistachio-yogurt sticks with crunch and nougat, kouign amann with cheesecake cream and cinnamon crumble, danish with bergamot and brown butter ganache. The menu changes weekly, the quality never does. The identity is built on a simple metaphor — omrvinka means crumb in Slovak. A small trace left after something good.
The whole visual system grows from basic geometric shapes — dots, circles, squares and triangles — referencing the geometry of pastry itself. The monospaced letterforms are drawn from these same shapes, balancing between abstraction and legibility, with crumbs scattered in the negative space. The monospaced grid opens the door for play — pattern, repetition, and a logo strip that can run continuously across packaging tape. As Omrvinka grows, the lettering is ready to become a full typeface.
The palette — chestnut, copper, peach, grey and blue — picks up the warm baked tones of the pastry and the brownish-orange brickwork of the building.
Vinco — a geometric pigeon mascot originally created by the owner. The eater of all the crumbs. And he lives: dressed as a bunny for Easter, a glowing skeleton for Halloween, heart-eyes for Valentine's Day. He keeps the brand alive and seasonal without ever breaking the system.
